Tikkun Olam – Healing and Restoring Our World

“Very touching! We highly recommend your concert for other groups. The variety of songs, the various instruments, and your words were all so appreciated. In this crazy world we are living in, the peace and healing were much appreciated. At the end, even those who had difficulty stood up to hold hands and sing together. We loved it. ”

… Barbara Weisbart – Director of Adult Enrichment, JCC of Central New Jersey

Tikkun olam is a Hebrew phrase that means “repairing the world” or “healing and restoring the world.” It suggests humanity’s shared responsibility “to heal, repair and transform the world.” This concert includes songs from Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and others from the 40’s through the 70’s as well as new compositions by Spook Handy with a focus on the Jewish tradition of recognizing that we all share the world; we have a responsibility to work toward good; and we have the tools – our voice, our vote and the power of song that can heal. Using these tools we can take an active role to right what is wrong, atone and take right positive action.

An excellent program for Jewish Communities, Festivals, Libraries, Arts Centers, Churches, Schools and other meeting places.
