Spook on Education
“Learning is a lot more than filling our heads with facts and dates. If we want to be well rounded mentally healthy human beings we need to participate in conversations and a type of thinking that can’t be reduced to 1’s, 0’s and $’s. We need to explore the inexact sciences of music, mythology and Tales from the Road. We need to steer our lives toward the fulfillment of our dreams. Otherwise we run the danger of becoming a society of disaffected wayward people milling about the world with no clear direction and a head full of unprocessed information that we don’t know what to do with.”
