Paul Prestopino plays all the fretted instruments – including banjo, mandolin, dobro, and mandola among others – as well as harmonica and the occasional recorder. He began his professional musical career in 1961 as accompanist with the Chad Mitchell Trio, played behind Peter, Paul & Mary for fifteen years, did a short stint with John Denver and has recorded with dozens of folk, pop, and rock-and-roll artists including Peter Paul and Mary, John Denver, Judy Collins, Tom Paxton, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, The Edgar Winter Group, The Paul Winter Consort, Pete Seeger and the Spook Handy Trio just to name a few. Paul also enjoys playing for contra dances and English country dances. In his spare time Paul works as a designer, builder and maintainer of pro audio equipment and helps keep the Trios equipment in tip top shape.
