Why Book Spook Handy?

Spook performs about 120 concerts each year at Festivals, Arts Centers, Libraries, Schools, House Concerts, Listening Rooms, Churches, Senior Centers and Private Parties. Here’s why so many venues want to book him:

He makes your job easy and fun!:

* “Spook - Wonderful feedback as always! I truly enjoy working with you, you bring such a positive presence wherever you go.”
                                - Jo Horton – Burlington County Library - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

* “Thank you for the email message and description of your program, and for the contract, invoice and pictures. It’s a great pleasure to receive complete info all at once from a performing artist.”
                                - Faith Yim - West Windsor Library, NJ

* “Thanks so much for the prompt response…I appreciate the quick turnaround very much… (would that every performer were as responsive!)…..”
                                - Dr. Lynn L. Siebert - Director of Arts Participation & Communication, Arts Council of the Morris Area, NJ

    Professionalism:

* “Spook is a definite pleasure to work with.…
Aside from his talent on the stage and his very agreeable personality and attitude, I am quite impressed with his professionalism. He shows up totally prepared to bound on the stage and start performing and is very conscious of keeping to his time and not putting anyone off schedule.”
                                - Ginger Osborne – stage manager at music events around the country - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    Engaging the Audience:

* “Your Freedom Is Your Destiny program was very enjoyable. I especially enjoyed your interaction with the audience. It was fun to see the audience participating in the music with some hand clapping and singing along.”
                                - Deborah Rosenblatt – Adult Services Librarian, Wayne (NJ) Public Library - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    Covert Learning:

* One of Spook’s goals is to give people some ideas to take home - maybe a slightly better knowledge of the history, geography, culture or values behind a familiar song or a new song they haven’t heard before. Music lovers love these tidbits. Teachers and librarians love knowing their students and audience is enriching their knowledge in a way that’s fun but not pedantic or preachy. This way, there’s just a little bit more reason for people to want to keep these songs and the tradition of singing alive.

    Great Music:

* What a joy your music is! If you need a reference for a presenter, don’t hesitate!
… Josh Dunson – manager for Peggy Seeger and Si Kahn - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
